10 More Best Friends
Gone are the playground days of ‘Jenny is my best friend, so you can’t be.’ By the time you’ve left school, you will have noticed that the truth is you can have several best friends in life, and it’s time for Sims to grow beyond the singular, trophy-like style of friendship. With the More Best Friends mod, your Sims can have several relationships tagged as ‘best friend’. Neat! It also reduces to cooldown time between ‘Become Best Friends’ interactions, so you can get recruiting besties left, right, and center. Share the love!
9 Ultrasound Scan
One of the wonders of modern medicine is the ultrasound, allowing parents to see unborn babies months before they’re due. If you install the Ultrasound Scan mod, your Sim can visit a gynecologist; they’ll leave in a car and return after a couple hours. There will be an ultrasound scan in their inventory when they get back, and if you hang it on the wall, your Sim receives a boost to their mood. The description of the scan will provide the gender and the number of babies. A nice touch from real life to help prepare for your digital bundle/s of joy.

8 Food = Calories
Sounds a little too real, right? Well if you really want all the ordinary (and downright difficult) facts of life in your game, this mod will help. It creates a rate of increasing body fat on your Sims after they eat meals. There are three different levels, to make the fact grow very quickly or at a more natural pace, noticeable after several days. Not only does this add a challenge, but when your Sims need to use the gym, they’ll genuinely need to. No more pointless running on treadmills; you’ll actually see the results as your Sims lose weight.
7 Slice Of Life
The Slice of Life mod adds crucial appearance changes that reflect what we go through in real life. Now your Sims will have a visible blush when they’re feeling flirty or embarrassed, and a red face when they’re drunk. This mod also adds teary eyes when Sims are sad, and even bruises on their face if they lose a fight.

A notable feature is the addition of acne, giving your Sims pimples; if you want them to have a realistic appearance, pimples are part of the package. Those little details go a long way in making a more relatable experience.
6 Explore
For all the fun, simple things we do in life that Sims don’t get to experience. With the Explore mod, your Sims can do a number of different things, go to different places under the ‘Explore…’ action menu. They can go shopping, with options including ‘Shop for Everyday outfit’ and ‘Shop for Formal outfit’; they’ll return with the appropriate new outfit. They can also go to the salon, a comedy club, get ice cream, get henna tattoos and loads more. They can even talk to a therapist, which removes negative moodlets. It’s always good to talk about your feelings.
5 Grocery Store Items
Like it or not, brands have become a part of our reality, with well-known names like Dove and Lemsip in every household. Now they can be in your Sims’ households too. For a more detailed look into real life, this mod adds a ton of branded items that look like our everyday groceries. From Nescafé coffee packets to Capri-Sun, Lucozade, and even Gillette – the best a Sim can get. There are Tampax and Bodyform sanitary products, and Cottonelle toilet paper (complete with cute golden puppy). It may be a capitalistic overload in your Sims’ homes, but it certainly makes the game more realistic!

4 Stretch Marks
Some wish they’d disappear, others wear them proudly like tiger stripes, but no matter how you see them, stretch marks are an inevitable part of life. They’re a natural sign of growth, where the skin has stretched rapidly. With the Stretch Marks mod, your Sims can have them on their breasts, tummy, thighs, and bottom.

They appear as tattoos in the game, with a variety of choices to alter where the marks are and how many you want to use. There are also several shades to adjust to different skin tones. Overall, it’s a pretty great mod to celebrate natural bodies.
3 Realistic Clouds
Ever had your Sims stare up at the sky, in a blissful daydream, only to have this serene moment disturbed by weird clouds? The clouds in Sims 4 are obviously not the main feature of the game – most players probably don’t even notice them. But for some Simmers, these fluffy puffs of vapor are lacking, and our Sims deserve better. This mod is one of many that makes the clouds in the game look more realistic, with more variance and translucence, among other details. Now your Sims can daydream to their hearts’ content, with clouds worthy of a view.
2 Simbay
One of the names we’ve come to know and love is eBay, where you can sell your old possessions to get some cash, and find gems in other people’s stores while you’re at it. Why should Sims be denied this privilege? Stick the items you want to sell in your inventory, use any computer in your Sim’s home, and the option for Online Service should appear. Using that option should allow you to submit items – up to four within 24 hours – and get Simoleons back. There’s even a 10% service fee for added realism! Joy!
How To Install Mods Sims 4 After Update1 Lower Wages
Here’s a more painful touch of reality. While in The Sims, wages are decent and your families can be paying bills and hitting the town in no time, in real life this is not always the case. If you’re one of the folks barely scraping by and you want your Sims to be in the same boat, they can with this mod. It reduces salaries of adult and teen jobs by about 50%, which sounds harsh but hey, you wanted realism, right? Bills will now be a serious issue rather than a quick click fix, adding a decent challenge to the game.

The Sims 4 launched on September 2nd, and one of its most notable differences from The Sims 3 is the loss of the Create-A-Style function. With Create-A-Style, players could recolor almost any texture in the game to express their personal creativity with custom clothing and furnishings. The feature’s absence leaves The Sims 4 feeling somewhat limited with its smaller handful of color swatches for each item.
The good news is, like The Sims 3, The Sims 4 does include powerful modding support. Ambitious creators are already churning out new fashions, recolored hairstyles, gameplay mods, and more to enhance your game. Learn how to install custom content here, and follow the links below to the communities and artists who bring it to life!
Installing Mods and Content
To install custom content, you’ll need to find the Mods folder for your game. The default file path for this folder is:
My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods
This is where you’ll be dropping your custom content. Note that many content creators compress their creations as ZIP or RAR files to make sharing easier, so get one of these free file extractorsThe Top 3 File Compression & Extraction SoftwaresThe Top 3 File Compression & Extraction SoftwaresNeed to compress a large file? There's no shortage of file compression and archiving apps for Windows. But which file zipper is best for you? Here are our three top picks.Read More to unpack your content before you place it in the folder. Once you’ve added any mods to The Sims 4, the game will show a mod browser by default when you launch it. This will let you know exactly what the game has recognized and implemented at launch, so you can know that your files are in the right place.
Windows 10 won t install on ssd. Jun 15, 2019 My problem is not being able to install windows 10 to my SSD (Drive 0 Partition 3) I get the message saying: 'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.
When you dive into the world of custom content, be aware that you’ll be handling items that haven’t been vetted by the game’s creators. This means you’ll occasionally run across misidentified, offensive, or buggy material in your hunt. Take these recolors of the buzzed up hairstyle that I downloaded. They look fine on a static Sim’s face, but once the characters start making expressions, the hair separates from itself in a visual glitch. If I want corrected hairstyles, I’ll have to keep an eye on the creator’s blog to see if she publishes an update, and manually replace the files if she does. Managing custom content requires extra effort, but if you feel stifled by the game’s existing options, it can be worth the trouble. Where To Find Cool Stuff
So now that you know how to add custom content, where can you find it? Here are a few places you can start exploring.
TumblrMany creators share their work without ever posting to one of the popular custom content hubs. Their Tumblrs, or Simblrs as they’re fond of calling them, provide links to the file sharing sites from which you can nab their finished products. If you just want to browse the vast variety available to you, search for one of the following terms: Sims 4 Custom Content, S4CC, or Sims 4 Mods. Any of these will pull up a healthy list of options. That’s where I found NYAMI SIMS’ Cat Ears. They’re perfect for your more childish or goofy Sims.
While following individual creators can help you find cool things, you may also want to follow a few aggregators too. Take this Tumblr by Emily CC Finds. It’s almost like a Pinterest board, with lots of pictures of content spread across several columns to make your browsing easy and fun.
Mod The Sims
At time of writing, Mod The Sims already has over 120 different files hosted for The Sims 4. You’ll have to create a login to download things from the site, but once you do, the process is straightforward. Does the funny waddle Sims do when they really have to find a bathroom turn you off? Turn it off with this mod! Add some heavy metal t-shirts for your rock fan Sims, or crank up the manliness with body hair for your gentlemen.
How To Use Sims 4 ModsThe Sims Resource
The Sims Resource won’t ask you to make an account to get access to their huge pool of downloads, and what a pool it is! You’ve got everything from fun metallic eye shadows, to classy recolors of existing dresses. Ever wanted to dress up like the game’s Grim Reaper, complete with spooky hover effect? Consider it done.
The Simsperience
The Simsperience is a new blog that launched alongside The Sims 4’s Create-A-Sim demo earlier this year. It only showcases the custom content of one particular creator, but it’s already packed with gorgeous recolors of existing clothing items. This classy pack of 10 recolored scoop neck tees was the first item to catch my eye, and it piqued my interest in checking out more of the blog’s quality content.
Conclusion
This is the time when your official Sims 4 options will be most limited. There’s no microtransaction shop up yet, and no expansions to diversify your gameplay. Custom content creators are eager to give you more mods and fashions, many of which perform just as well as official content, without charging you a penny! Try some of them out, and make The Sims 4 play the way you like it. Warning:
Websites such as The Sims Resource and Mod The Sims are great providers of Custom Content and Mods for any The Sims Game. Creators from those websites have already started releasing content for The Sims 4.
Although it seems simple, some simmers still don’t know exactly how to install downloaded content they found online.
First of all, you’ll need a Mod or CC file to begin with. If the file you downloaded is in .zip or .rar format, extract it so that you only have a .PACKAGE file.
Now, copy that file to DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 4Mods.
You can keep track of all your Mods in that folder, or you can see which ones function properly/have applied correctly by opening The Sims 4 > Settings > Other panel. From there you can Enable/Disable Script Mods (use with caution) or you can just View your Mods.
